Problem: Young people are inheriting a world that’s in environmental crises, yet their own voices are marginalised.
Solution: Help them to tell their own stories about the crisis and how they’re responding, so they can inspire others in, and beyond, their generation.
Stories to Action is about sharing young people’s stories through a video competition with a difference – instead of rewarding a few winners only, we’re building a platform to both inspire youth voices and connect participating young people together with organisations who can amplify their impact.
Participants are supported to create their videos through online workshops and other free resources, and encouraged to share them with their communities for broader impact, supported by an online environmental action pledge. A celebration event will showcase the prize-winning videos, with participating youth having opportunities to connect with aligned organisations to continue sharing their stories.
Stage 1 – (Feb-March)
Partner and co-design with aligned creative, social and environmental impact organisations
Stage 2 – (March-April)
Launch competition, run online workshops, promote creative environmental videos, gather entries
Stage 3 – (May-June)
Judge entries, hold participant/partner celebration and connection events, evaluation, next phase planning
The project will create a platform for connecting the participating youth, partners, and the community to best share the submitted videos and provide the young people with pathways and resources to become active in their communities.
